《父親的金表》
作者:馮錦旺 Jack Fung 父親在我二十歲那年就被無情地癌魔帶走了。與父親相處的二十年光陰,猶如白駒過隙,彈指即過。短短地二十年,父親留給我其中一個最深刻的記憶就是,他對時間的那一份執著與堅持。 提起時間,最有關聯的莫過於父親掛在舊家客廳裡的老爺鐘與他的“金勞”(粵語泛指金勞力士表,或看上去很貴的金表)。 父親的老爺鐘是那種木製長方形,像似一個木櫥櫃,有道門可關上的擺鐘。鐘面是以金屬特製並嵌入木內,金屬鐘面還備有兩個用以上鏈的小孔。鐘面下還搖動著那個隨著時間分秒流逝的節奏而左右搖擺的鐘擺。每逢一點,鐘聲就會發出洪亮的一下鐘聲,“噹!” 餘音拖曳得震耳欲聾。對我來說最痛苦的,莫過於午夜鐘聲。它必須敲十二下,每敲一下,我的眼睛就越睜越大,失眠的可能性就更大。不過,很可惜的是,該老爺鐘隨著我們的搬遷而下落不明。慶幸的是,父親的金表依然完好無損地傳到我手中。 我們祖籍瓊州,也就是現指的海南島,家也是不可免俗地開咖啡店,也就是俗稱kopitiam的茶室。依稀記得父親任何事皆親力親為,因工作關係,所以並不會長時間佩戴著他的金表。當父親戴上他引以為豪的金表時,那必然是每逢佳節或是任何親戚好友有新婚出閣之喜。父親告訴我,無論是佳節婚宴,我們都必須遵守時間,守約而不是爽約。因此家裡店內的每一個角落都一定要有個時鐘。如必須出門在外,就一定要佩戴手錶。體面得來,不失大方。 父親的金表經過了接近半世紀歲月的磨練,卻看不見任何被年份所摧殘的痕跡。金表依然金光閃閃、光鮮亮麗,就好像父親留給我的教誨般記憶猶新。謝謝您,父親。您留下的不止是金表,還有您那對時間觀念的教導。對我來說,這絕對比任何珍珠瑪 瑙、黃金白銀還來得永恆、珍貴。 |
《父親的國父金幣》
作者:馮錦旺 Jack Fung 從我有記憶伊始,對父親總是敬怕交織。我尊敬父親大人不辭勞苦、無畏艱辛地撫養我長大成人,如師長般地循循善誘。我怕的是,父親那副不怒而威,猶如關公般的威猛臉孔。 父親老來得子,也造就了我與父親間的年齡與時代鴻溝,我們父子間就是缺乏了那份認知與溝通。 十七年前,父親被肝癌帶走了,令我深深體會到,樹欲靜而風不止,子欲養而親不在的無奈。收拾心情之餘,也必須收拾父親的遺物。在整理父親的遺物時,媽媽把一個沉甸甸的布袋交了給我,千叮萬囑我必須好好保管。我內心納悶,到底此小小布袋內藏任何乾坤,竟然如斯沉重。答應了媽媽後,按捺不住好奇心作祟,將布袋來個大反轉,把內裡乾坤統統倒在沙發上。叮鈴噹啷聲首先入耳,之後映入眼簾的竟然是一些我從沒見過的馬來西亞舊幣。 那些舊幣,有的是被珍而重之地收藏於小盒內;有的就任其散亂地被丟入布袋內,直到我將其重見天日的那一天。那時候的我,好比劉姥姥進大觀園—眼花繚亂卻又覺得煞是有趣。 看著形狀不一,並且色澤斑駁的舊幣,它們霎時間,彷彿一把把鑰匙把父親封鎖已久的興趣大門重新開啟,並把我引入他老人家的世界裡尋幽探秘。 在眾多舊幣中,最引人注目的莫過於兩枚刻有馬來西亞第一任首相,亦是大馬國父,敦姑阿都拉曼的肖像紀念金幣。該面額一百與五百令吉的國父金幣彌足珍貴的並不是它的市值,而是它背後的歷史價值。看到金幣上的國父,頓時令我有種肅然起敬的感覺,令我更加珍惜我國經過他的鍥而不捨而獲取獨立後,為國人所帶來的自主自由、繁華盛世與種族和諧。我拿起每一枚舊幣細心觀察,並小心翼翼地摸著它們凹凸不平,錯落有致的鑄紋。它們每一枚像似在對我細訴著歲月的無情,時過境遷地在它們身上留下了永不磨滅的殘舊烙印。那時候,我頓然明白,父親的興趣其實不只是為了一飽私慾,而是為了讓我們下一代可以藉著對舊幣的認識與珍惜,而繼續珍惜目前所有一切,把目前所擁有的,都不惜一切地傳承下去,就好像父親他傳給我那樣,一代接著一代地傳下去。下一代如果有幸見到刻在錢幣上的國父肖像,雖然再也沒機會聽到父親的親口叮嚀,但那刻的我心神領會,與父親的隔閡,一瞬間竟似蕩然無存。 父親,我必定會珍惜眼前,感恩現在所擁有的一切,並好好地把您的教誨與精神,細水長流地傳承下去。 |
